The loved ones of teenagers unaccounted for after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an excruciating wait for official news and appealing for clues about their family members publicly.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Verified images show the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the fire, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another scores more. A spokesperson said on Friday that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process continuing to locate the final individuals.

In the interim, loved ones have been using the internet to request information about their friends who were in attendance that evening.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his parent.

The resident of Lutry near the city, informed a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to see if he was in the hospital, while his father did the equivalent search in Bern, but was unsuccessful.

"This is a living nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in intensive care. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She explained that some of his friends had been located with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they endured a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's government has confirmed that a number of of its citizens remain missing.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Italy but now residing in Dubai.

The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without directly referencing the tragedy, paying tribute to a "talented young man who embodied dedication and authentic values."

His parent, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around the new year. An official spokesperson has clarified that a official announcement of his death is not yet.

Further Cases

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the bar.

"A close friend said they ran away after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators stated, "I've always been struck by his kindness and smile, alongside great maturity. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

Her sibling has published an urgent request on social media, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the case.
