Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”
